CAL-IM Season XVII 6:1 and 6:2 Train
August 29, 2006
Tonights match was against respected team #scm. Despite consistent roster issues, everyone played big tonight to shut down their respective sites. After coming out strong on CT, winning 11-4, we lost t-pistol, and slowly but surely worked our way towards the 5 rounds we needed to take the victory. The match could have easily gone either way, but luck was on our side: we somehow won two mistaken half buys, that could have easily left us in a double save situation. We took the match 5-8, and after the save, went on to finish off 7-8 with a lower-rush on the inside site. If Greg’s class hadn’t been surprisingly canceled, who knows what would have happened.
Unfortunately we won’t be playing our second match this week unless we make it up. #silverspine asked to forfeit the match due to their inactivity.
CAL-IM Season XVII 5:2 Inferno
August 23, 2006
#intense! came out strong on their ct-side, reading our pistol well, and smoothly taking the ensuing eco-rounds, including an impressive ace to stop an apartments rush. In the fourth round, when we had guns in our hands, we grabbed ahold of the momentum, and didn’t let go until our b-rush was picked apart by #intense!’s impressive awp-play. After the 11-4 t-half, we won CT pistol, traded a couple gun rounds, and had won the match! Good game to #intense!
CAL-IM Season XVII 5:1 Inferno
August 18, 2006
#zoii was the first match of the week, after a solid t-side going up 10-5, we lost game-point many rounds in a row on ct, falling to #zoii’s impressive default. The game ended 16-14 in our favour, but it could have easily gone into ot. Thanks to Andy for standing in once again. With Greg going into a cast this weekend, Andy may just take the starting spot.
Andy Back From Vacation
August 16, 2006
A warm welcome home to our 6th. Andy has been away for almost a month attending the wedding of one of his relatives. Well he’s kept in touch with the team during his absense, he’ll be a welcome asset as he steps back into the server. With him and Chris filling in when needed, expect a lot of practice time that we would otherwise have to miss.
CAL-IM Season XVII 4:1 and 4:2 Strike
August 16, 2006
Unfortunately, #osit forfeited our first match of the week. Every forfeit win is disappointing, but with our 4:2 match scheduled for tuesday, we tried to stay positive.
Things are finally looking up for our team. Despite Greg breaking his wrist, we’ve been able to string together several solid practices, and it paid off with a big ‘W’ at the end of the day. #defcon5 bought big a few rounds too many and were forced to double save several times leading to a 11-4 victory on our CT-side. After taking t-pistol, and the ensuing save-rounds, we traded on gun rounds leading quickly to a 5-2 victory, which we extended to 13-2 by staying relatively serious through to the end.
CAL-IM Season XVII 3:2 Nuke
August 10, 2006
Due to unfortunate circumstances, Matthew wasn’t able to assemble his new computer in time for the match, and we weren’t able to field five. We apologize to #synix who were relatively patient with us, waiting over half an hour before giving the forfeit.
CAL-IM Season XVII 3:1 Nuke
August 7, 2006
Thanks to #wew for a good time. They were kind enough to allow us to reschedule the match after initial problems fielding five. This was Chris “atkjr”’s Little’s first match, filling in for Birdman who is on vacation. Despite a strong 8-7 t-side, we weren’t able to hold it together ct-side and dropping it 3-11 despite some close rounds. We’re continuing to try to solve our roster issues, so hopefully we’ll have that solved later this week!
3dN Starting Roster Makes Adjustments
August 4, 2006
One of our goals from the very beginning of this CAL-IM season has been to finalize our starting roster. In order to do this, we’ve realized the need to bring in one new player. If you can meet our extensive practice schedule, and are an experienced player, contact Trav, Birdman, or Little in #3dimension or e-mail team3dn@hotmail.com
CAL-IM Season XVII 2:2 Dust2
August 2, 2006
What a tough match. We played #fightfair and went down 10-5 CT-Side. We felt confident in our ability to dominate terrorist half. Due to circumstances out of our control, one of our players missed the second half and #fightfair cruised to an easy 6-1 victory.
We’ll be making some adjustments behind the scenes to make sure something of this nature doesn’t happen again. Best of luck to #fightfair in the rest of the season, and support us as we restructure following a rocky start to our first season of CAL-im.
